Horizons (2000)

This is a piece that came out of an assignment in my partner Alice George’s collaboration group. I took a series of paintings by Joyce Elias of these wonderful striated horizons, and combined them through a slow-cross fade of scans into a slowly changing video which is paired with a soundtrack strictly realized on my modular eurorack analog synthesizer. A piece filled with slow movement, drones, gradually revealed timbres and visual patterns.
