Quartet (2015)

Quartet is a smaller scale and more intimate version of some of my large-scale multiple-speaker sound installations.

This work is made of found wood, with a small computer wired to 4 speakers and 2 LEDs using copper wire and numbered upholstery tacks. The circuit is thus entirely visible and forms the pattern of the piece. 4 small buzzers chirp and click away in a minature ambient piece that is constantly changing - sampling the "ether" with two antennae - and responding with ever changing patterns based on local insect sounds.
