Apple Concert

Apple Concert is a performance that Finnish artist Jan-Erik Andersson and I created that uses an amplified apple as a sound source. This series has been performed in various manners in multiple contexts. Sometimes it is a solo piece by Jan-Erik, with me amplifying and processing the sound of his eating in real-time. For other performances, we make use of multiple performers, or even give apples to the entire audience to contribute their own sounds. The work has the feel of various Fluxus or Dada perofrmance practices. Below is documentation of a version of our Apple Concert presented at the 100 year anniversary symposium of the Abö Akadamie in Abö (Turku) Finland. This work, features live and recorded sounds from eating apples as well as other electronic processing and recordings. In this performance, 4 heads of the institution join us on-stage.
