Programming for Performance- Project #2
Sample Playback Patch
For this project, create your own live performance patch which is based on the sample playback object you have downloaded in the tutorial section (and which we covered in class). Use my example patch as a starting place. Come up with your own samples (sorry, you don't get to use mine), and your own interface and controls. There are a lot of possible things you might explore - access to the sample loop points via the keyboard, likewise to the sample playback speed, using even more sample players, or using presets to rapidly jump around within a single sample - all these are options. I leave the details up to you. Make the interface fit a specific idea you have of how to use a sample in performance. And finally, KEEP IT SIMPLE.
This patch will be used to perform a short piece (a couple of minutes max) for the morning class, so keep this in mind when designing this patch, and make it something that actually works EVERY TIME. (Yes, this goes along with the "keep it simple theme").
Once again, please email me a STUFFED version of your patch. No need to include the samples, (unless they are in total less than 3Mb). I am interested more in your Max programming. I'll get to hear the samples during your performance in class. And don't forget: put your name somewhere on your patch where I can see it!
