Final Project

Create a WWW page using whatever various Flash techniques presented in class which are required to realize your final project idea. These projects will be presented in class first as proposals, and then on the final day of class, as completed projects.

I would encourage you to consider making this project a work of art specifically created for the WWW (as opposed to an informational site, portfolio page, etc.) which uses the WWW (and its various component parts) as both a medium and the user's computer as a venue for presenting your piece.

This means, that you might consider projects which reference the WWW outside of themselves in some way, projects which critique the current state of the WWW and its use, or projects which make use of the specific possibilities of interaction, two-way communication, group-involvement, and other possibilities the WWW offers.

An alternative to this WWW-as-medium approach would be working on a simple stand-alone application or game that would run independant of the WWW. Authoring of games using Flash has become increasingly popular, and for a final project, I would encourage you to work on a simple idea as far as a game goes - focus on interesting and elegant concepts rather than complicated programming.

Each project will be placed on-line on your own WWW site (if you haven't already activated your school www site, we will do so in class) prior to final critiques.
